WHO ARE WE
A passionate bunch of musicians and performers

About Us

For a banging wedding band in Scotland look no further! Emily and The Fedoras are one of the hottest live entertainment acts on the Scottish scene: a Motown-inspired Soul Sista with a band of Funky Brothers. A Rock’N’Roll guitar, bass and drums foundation, replete with horn section, all topped off with a knockout lady lead-vocal stealing the show. We are modern, we are retro, we are rock’n’roll, we are R&B funky groove, and we will keep the dance floor bouncing, as Lionel Richie would say, all night long!

In 2012, Emily Streete and Michael Grant began jamming together as Drive. After gigging around Edinburgh they realised that all the songs that they wanted to perform required brass. As awesome as Mike’s face melting guitar solos are, they decided that musically, they were going to need a bigger boat.

In March 2013, two became six : Emily and The Fedoras were formed. With a shared passion for an era where the music was as cool as the style, the band began reworking classic Soul, Motown, Funk, Pop and Classic Rock hits.

As the set list grew and gigs became plentiful, word got out about the band’s infectious energy and onstage chemistry. We began getting booked up fast for weddings and events around Scotland and England.

We highly recommend that you come and see us perform live. Not only do we have a set list packed full of classic floor fillers, we bring a confidence and energy to the stage that will get the joint jumpin’! Even the shy among the crowd cannot resist the call to the dance floor: our vivacity is infectious!

Growth of the band

On the back of the success of their performance at the Festival Theatre Studio, Emily and The Fedoras were asked back the following year and were met with a roof raising reception.

Having invited Emily and The Fedoras to perform at two charity gigs I was so pleased and impressed with them as the headline act for the nights. They stormed in with great musical aplomb and got everyone on their feet dancing. This is the kind of musical talent that gets the place jumping and I would wholeheartedly recommend them for all sorts of occasions.

Great line up, fabulous musicianship and Emily and with as a magnificent front women – what more can you ask.

They haven’t looked back since! From performing in The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and frequently gigging around Edinburgh in venues such as Whistlebinkies, Stramash, Foundry 39, Brewhemia and The Jazz Bar, the band have a reputation for getting the party started!

Emily and The Fedoras have also packed dance floors in village halls and taverns. We’ve filled the Grand Gallery at the National Museum of Scotland, and lived it up in luxury venues and hotels like Oran Mor and the Kings Hall at The Principle Hotel.  We’ve also played in the open air to wedding guests and wildlife alike at the Secret Herb Garden, Fruin Farm, Kailzie Gardens and Windmill Barn.

Emily and The Fedoras bring a classic retro style to any party and relish the opportunity to whip the crowd into a frenzy! You won’t find a more exciting wedding band in Scotland!
